Another great shoot with Kirsten at Pitt Meadows.
Not exactly sure which park this was but it was along the canal in Pitt Meadows. One of the first times I got to test out my new Alienbees and I was very happy with the outcome. This was a simple shoot using two lights one hard light for the hair and an umbrella at around 45 degrees just off centre. The power of the Mono lights compared to a standard flash is amazing. I really struggle to use standard flashes even though they are lighter and cheaper the mono light just has the power I need.
Pitt Meadows is a great location with great backdrops and open landscapes. The only issue we had was being approached by the police while shooting. For commercial photography you should get a licence from the parks board. Having Mono lights tends to attract attention. Once I explained the situation the police let us continue, however I suspect if the shoot looks to commercial questions on permits will be asked.
I had very little processing to do on the images but the one thing I played around with was the grass. The original colour was a dark green but I changed some of the images to yellow grass.
I wish we had more days in summer like this.
